Ah well, I'd like my 90 min back please. Boring, formulaic movie. Loved him in Shawn of the dead, was ok in Hot Fuzz. Enjoyed Devil wears Prada. This movie just did not have it. People said great comedy but slapstick. Well the slapstick was not even that funny. No chemistry, not engaging. I would recommend a pass on this one.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I hope that Simon Pegg starts doing films like Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and television like Spaced again soon. Run Fatboy Run and this flop seem to be Hollywoods idea to make him mainstream regardless of the script The word "uninspired" kept popping up in my head throughout the over long movie. The music, the "humour", the plot... You get the idea. I'm sure that someone thought the full frontal nudity of a transvesite would be shocking and really funny but really it's 2008, can we please move on? Even Jeff Bridges phoned in his character recycling his role from the Fisher King, an infinatley better film. I only wish Ms. Dunst had done the same... She was the worst part of this movie.

This movie suffers from the bad ending syndrome. I didn't read the book and I found Simon Pegg to be the ideal personality to carry the lead. He's funny and the situations he gets into are hilarious. Sadly the ending is, for want of a better word, pants (piss poor) The movie is a romp and in the last few minutes it decides it's actually a rom/com. Leave with 10 minutes to go, it'll be much better.

Such a good movie. The only thing that spoiled this was the old lady laughing in the back of the theater.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This was just not a very funny movie. Some parts of the plot still don't make any sense to me - the pig, the dog, the famous mother and father? And the transsexual's dance... I could have done with out that full frontal nudity!!!

There were a few very funny parts, but it's a rental... not to the same caliber as other Simon Pegg movies.

Best comedy a year, too smart for most but still excellent.

Great, I guess. It was iffy but I think that sums it up. Happy I wrote enough. :)

Not typical except for the ending. Some brilliant comic moments. Wonderfully cynical.

I would highly recommend this movie for anyone who likes romantic comedy's and comedy's in general. If you are a Simon Pegg fan you will love this movie - he does a wonderful job! The entire cast does each of their characters great. It is a great night out seeing this movie.

This movie really was very disappointing. As a rule I see everything with Simon Pegg (because of Shaun of the Dead) but I may have to change that rule. The only reason to see it is to watch Kirsten Dunst's horrid acting and of course, Megan Fox. As for the humor, it was very dry... not nearly as funny as his earlier stuff.

This is the worst movie I've seen in a long, long time. Fellas, if you think you're getting a Simon Pegg (sean of the dead, Hot Fuzz) ball buster comedy you're not. This is a trite, formulaic movie that will be so painfully obvious to you every step of the way you will actually become dumber for seeing it. If you want to see a true travesty though, try to sneak in just so you can say you saw the worst movie of the year. There are a few laughs, but they really only make the film worse because they just barely keep your girlfriend in the movie theatre. Painful.

What starts off as an interesting, funny, outrageous yet slightly contrived comedy turns into typical romantic comedy before it's over. Simon Pegg and Jeff Bridges are great, but when it's over, you wonder why they'd take a true story and turn it into a generic rom-com. It's okay, and there are some truly hilarious moments, but nothing special overall.
