Nice segue into the T. V. show which looks exactly the same in quality of animation. Also a nice segue into the toys (sarcasm) It's the same toys as before but with Clone Wars stamped on it and some new action figures that look more cartoony. I enjoyed the movie, I'm curious to see how long the T. V. show lasts.

It was very well done, I just wish I had seen it when it first played, now after so many times you can see the wear on the film reel when it's played on screen but still none the less it was a great movie, I'll buy the DVD when it comes out, that's a promise!

Loved it. But I knew what to expect before hand and that is why I loved it. To me it was another story within the story. You must know STARS WARS really well to appreciate this show.

Hey, um, you know what would be better than this? Watching the original cartoon. Man, that one was awesome. Go rent that if it's on DVD. I'm a Star Wars fan, I collect the KOTOR comic books, so don't start with any," Oh you aren't a fan of Star Wars, that's why you didn't like it". It's just... it's like if you mushed the great TV cartoon with the newer movies, removed everything great about the cartoon (jokes, voice acting, writing, dramatic tension) and replaced it with a really bad kids show. The clumsy droids aren't funny, the horrendous "Sky-Guy" jokes are at the very bottom of some sort of whirlpool of stupid... stupid stuff, and the action scenes- well, I mays as well just wait until the new Star Wars game comes out, and play that. At least it'd be more entertaining. Just... stop trying, okay George Lucas? We appreciated it when you were younger, but now it's like you've grown old in a retirement home, forgetting the greatest parts of your past success, drooling and leaving "presents". So really, two points of advice: Either rent/buy the old cartoon, or rent/buy Force Unleashed, because they're both a thousand times better.

It's nice that people like fun entertaining movies, But George used to be about making great movies like Episode 4 +5 Star Wars were classics-but George got into his toy making marketing schemes and since then all of his SW movies have been sideline gimmicks for promoting other marketing aspects -now this 'animation flick' for a likely tv series? I hope this is the last 'plastic' movie he makes in SW series -its getting sad now for SW fans who always hope he'll salvage the series back to its highest level.

I'm a 40 year old Star Wars fan. I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!! I don't understand why some people gave it a bad review. They don't know what they're talking about. The battle scenes are great and the cinematic scenes are great. A must see for Star Wars fans.

This animation film delivers a much better vision of the clone wars than the whole cartoon series. Visually stunning, it's really a must-see for all star wars fans. Enjoy Jabba's offspring!! ;P

It was really good! I walked into the theater expecting to be disappointed but I wasn't! It was a really good movie, the story was kinda stupid (Jabba's son) and there was ONLY eye contact between Padme & Anakin, but all in all. I really enjoyed it, especially how Anakin's humor shines in this movie.

If you notice almost everyone who has given this movie a poor rating has been of the age 30 or above... THIS MOVIE IS A ANIMATED CARTOON! It is meant for kids! And it was a great movie for kids. Yes the dialogue is cheesy, but the action scenes were awesome, the story was good, and the movie is full of character and heroes. I think it was a great movie.

I knew it would be bad, but because I'm a Star Wars freak, it was my obligation to see this. I regret that decision. Okay, the good first: action's pretty cool. The bad now: 1) Anakin's padawan, who makes Jar Jar Binks cool by comparison, and uses cutesy little nicknames for everyone, like Sky Guy, Artooey and Stinky. 2) The dialogue makes that in The Phantom Menace seem like Shakespeare. 3) The whole Jabba's son plot was beyond idiotic; gimme Ewoks and Gungans any day. 4) The art is horrendous. 5) Where exactly does this story fit in with the other Clone Wars cartoons? I've been wracking my brains, but can't figure it out. I'm going to get some hypnosis now so I can forget about it forever.

Wow... that wasn't good at all... it actually put me into a minor state of depression during the drive home. The only positive was the perfectly worded review by joeyballast below (25/08).. somebody should hire that guy... Lucas should hire that guy to give out a reality check next time old Georgey decides to poop on his own legendary series.

One word... disappointed. This could have been condensed into a 1 hour special on TV. To put it in the theaters and force people to pay for it was wrong. Lucas should have known better since this was essentially a prelude to a series that will be on TV anyways. Oh well...

If you are a Star Wars fan (big or small)like I am, don't go see this movie, it totally BORING, it goes nowhere, it doesn't add to any movie (I tough maybe a link between the 2nd and 3rd but nope).. The sad thing I saw some "behind the scene" footage and George L. was really involved with it so I don't know what happen but even as a direct to dvd it still would have been bad...

The critics make a few valid points, but I still found this movie amazing because it was near-nonstop action. This movie did what the prequel trilogy failed to do - make a movie about Star Wars. Not Star Politics, not Star Love Story, not Star Picnic Amongst the Star Cows; Star WARS. This movie was a thrill ride from start to finish, while still being safe enough to bring the little brother along. A fantastic movie that, while not without its' flaws, totally blew episodes I and II out of the water.

It gives us all the elements that Star Wars has brought: amazing heroes, sinister villains, and battle scenes that are well thought out. The literary aspect leaves much work to be done, but otherwise, then again, Star Wars is for entertainment, not English class.

Went to see this with my 12 year old son. I couldn't wait for it to be over what a waste of my sons life to sit there and watch this. I'm a huge SW fan but this killed it for me and my son. WOW was that bad, what were you thinking. This is one dvd that wouldn't even enter the house. I was so hipped up to see this and was blown down to earth as soon as it started. SAD DAY!!!

First, let me state that I and my sons LOVE the original Star Wars films. And we really enjoyed the animated Clone Wars series that is now available on two DVDs. If this movie had been up to par with either of the above mentioned, we would have really enjoyed it. As it stands, this new film is, I'm sad to say, nearly completely horrible. The animation is not bad. Not great, but not bad. The voice acting was well done. Production values are good. The writing, however, is just mind-numbingly disasterous. The plot is weak. We're reminded more times than I can remember how vital it is that the Jedi win the favour of Jabba the Hutt. (As if we could somehow have lost track of this basic plot line, it's repeated for us... again, and again.) And then we meet Anakin's new Padewan. A girl that uses nicknames like 'Sky Guy', and 'R-Twoey'. *shudder* For some odd reason, Anakin's character keeps changing the way he addresses his new sidekick, going from real name to nickname in the same breath. And not just once... it started happening so often that I began to count. The plot is so uninspired that my sons were literally bored by the end. This was the first time I've even had my son turn to me at the end of a Star Wars film and say "Wow... that kind of sucked." Needless to say, this is one DVD that will not be joining my library. I don't know where George Lucas was when the script for this thing came around for approval. I'm going to guess 'on vacation'. Seriously. Next time, gang, give it back to the team that originally wrote the Clone Wars animated series. That was MILES above this lame, sad little offering.

Made for children... but the storyline is too complexed for them. Should have made it for adults, who actually know the Star Wars plot.

This, to me, was a movie made so that husbands that had annoying wives that said the original Star Wars was too violent could take their kids to see SOME form of Star Wars. Just watch the originals, this was like a bad Cartoon Network/Teletoon special.

It's awful. George Lucas must have made the first 3 and the clone wars cartoon by accident. Please end this travesty now.

Just let it die, George. The style of animation, though novel, failed to achieve anything that it set out to do and ended up stale and annoying. The character models may have looked interesting (in other words almost precisely what they looked like in The Clone Wars animated series), but when it looks like a two year old with a five inch wide brush painted on the character's features, any excitement we could have felt dissipates almost immediately. The backgrounds were nothing more than a few daubs of paint on a crappy canvas. The voice acting was terrible and full of unnatural pauses, and if they had handed me the script I would have read it, vomited, cried, vomited again, and then finally torn the script to pieces. No amount of money could have saved something this fundamentally flawed. Finally, this is the first time that I've seen a filmmaker choose to use an over-the-top 1950's style narrator at the beginning of a movie without the intention of satire or having it segue into a news-broadcast or some other contrived source of expository information. Episode one was the nail in the coffin, episode two was the first shovel of dirt, episode three was the headstone, and this movie was nothing more than Lucas peeing on the grave of what was once his meal-ticket.

Indeed, not good not even for a fan... Too much for children and not even a good script. Dialog are bad and too often stupid. SW clone wars the animated series was so much more better than this... this should have kept the same formula for this movie... instead its long and boring. Animation is too quick sometimes but the effects are nice... the look also of some scenes are very nice, but with the story and the acting of the characters its pretty much anoying all the way through the end. Maybe show this movie to children but beside this it's not worth it at all.

WOW! If you loved the battle action scenes in Star Wars, you won't be disappointed. This movie kept me in my seat from start to finish. The scenario is excellent, the characters interesting, and true to the movies we've all seen on the big screen. I am a Star Wars fan and I'm glad to have seen this one in a movie theater for the eye catching action. Thank you Mr. Lucas for another excellent entertaining movie!
