While this is a not bad movie, it could have been so much better. There are some interesting twists. Don Cheadle makes the movie and provides a great performance in his role as an undercover agent posing as a terrorist. The movie needed some editing as there were plenty of slow parts and confusing flashbacks. In the end it all makes sense. Its certainly a good choice for a DVD rental.

A competently made piece of propaganda, though Don Cheadle does his usual outstanding acting. The message is simple: "be afraid, be very afraid, 'they' are out to get nice clean Americans. Trust the FBI and the government." If you like George Bush, you'll like this film.

Good thriller, the punch was kinda obvious, but still, I enjoyed it. The plot was well thought of, and the action scenes were nice. It not a "shoot them up" kind of movie, and yet not a documentary either. Worth seeing, but I guess you could wait for DVD.

This movie intriqued me from start to finish. The story was excellent and you will come away with a greater insight into a complex issue, i.e. terrorism. Contrary to some posts I have read, this movie to me was the exact opposite of your typical anti-Islam, rah rah American movie. I found the cinematography quite unique, the story very well portrayed by some pretty good actors, and a satisfying yet slightly rushed conclusion. The only negative was the lady in the row in front with the 1950's style bee-hive that smelled like mothballs.

I went in there not expecting anything and I was greatly rewarded. It's one of those films that will go under the radar but if your antenna's are working properly, this film should appeal to you.

Very entertaining movie, packed with action, has a twist to it as well. Also this movie gives greater insight into the Islam religion as well as Islam Extremists.

This movie is very entertaining, it has a lot of action going on and the plot is good but a couple things are not very realistic. My concern with this movie is that it is NOT for ignorant people because it will give them a bad image of muslims. It's really for an educated audience that is open minded and understands the difference between muslims and terrorists...

I am born and raised as a Muslim in Egypt. I agree the movie was a little bit simplistic. But yet I believe it draw a good comparison between two types of Muslims. The literal reader "Terrorists" and the "Deep Readers". I do not think it was offensive at all. I thought it was an accurate representation!

If people use Hollywood as basis of reality when it comes to complex issues like religion, politics and the outcomes of power struggles, they are perpetuating ignorance no matter how colorful and earnest they may be in their commentary. Working in the field of international affairs I make it a point (grudgingly) to view this kind of dribble. Let's not forget that 'we' the West have imposed ourselves in these 'conflict' regions from way back. Instead of seeking to overpower we should have learned to exchange and learn that progress comes through cooperation. Most 'are' ignorant of the real issues and work hard to 'remain' ignorant for the sake of 'not looking' ignorant. Hence the perpetuating BS!

This is a hard movie to rate. I was very please with Don Cheadle and Guy pierce performance. But my main problem was the story and how they define things... Too one side for my taste... I felt they went out of their way to shown the bad element which do not follow or respect the principal of The Coran! I felt the message was like propaganda even offensive (and I'm not even (Muslim).. look at us (USA) were trying to defeat to bad or evil Muslim world. It just Sad to see they failed to portray a balance or fair point of view of what going on in the world today.

Don Cheadale does a great job. Show complex ion of decision making on all sides. Almost seems to glorify Muslim beliefs and religion, and puts it as an equal to Christianity which is unfortunate.

I have a middle eastern background. I do not find it offensive in any way. The story is very realistic. I think the only reason it's getting a low score is because some Muslims find the story to be offensive. I completely disagree with that point of view. Go see it and you wont regret it. The reality is that both parties parties (i.e. Americans & Muslim fundamentalists) are at war and both sides blame the other for hostilities.

Excellent movie. Very intelligent. Quite believable compared to other movies like it. The terrorists in this movie are muslims, so if you're gonna be offended by that, you better not see the movie. Muslims are portrayed about as well as they could be in a movie where the bad guys are muslims, so I don't think people need to complain about their portrayal. A lot of muslims do view the west as evil, this is nothing new.

Let me put it this way: After seeing "Traitor", I felt betrayed! Lousy acting; poor story line... If you are one of those who think all Muslims are born evil, then you will be shocked and awed!

I'm so very torn after watching this movie. I rate Don Cheadle right up there as a superb Actor. Guy Pierce is excellent as well, although limited in his role here. The movie paints a picture that I don't know if I can buy. War and Religion seem to make for numerous debates and obviously dozens of movies as recently witnessed over the years. I simply can't buy into one sided opinions of who is right and who is wrong as this movie and so many before it try to sum up cause and effect in under 2 hours. The movie is still entertaining and worth watching.

Not worth the money to watch, if movies that keep coming out are like this, the "war on terror" is not going to go anywhere... Its going to be Good (America) vs. Evil (Anywhere middle eastern).. and in many cases America is the bad guy. Don't expect much from this film.

The continuing myth that Canada has been and still is a safe and willing haven for Jihadist terrorists is perpetuated once more in a mediocre film by Americans too lazy to tell the truth. I could go on, but what would be the point. If you wait a week or two it'll be on Fox News as a documentary.

Aside from being shot well from a technical aspect this movie gets a poor rating because of the basic premise, this being the fight against mindless terrorists who cannot be bargained with under any circumstances. It shows that Hollywood still has the capacity to churn out movies dealing with complex world issues with a simplistic view; us vs. them, good vs. bad etc. It is a wonder Chuck Norris didn't have a guest appearance in this one as it was in the same vein as the Delta Force, True Lies type of movie.

Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle are good foils in this taut policier cum terrorist melodrama. The murderous jihadist sentiment is repugnant, yet deftly written to give Cheadle's Samir Horn an air of ambivalence for much of the film. This is no Bourne Ultimatum, despite the jittery hand-held camera. It lacks the relentless pacing and balance of a great action flic building to a crescendo, but it is difficult to predict the outcome. The final resolution is trite and too convenient. A simpler plot would have had greater impact. But Cheadle plays the lead as a man of true faith and is crucified between light and shadow, a very satisfying Jungian denouement in a complex world.

This was a great movie. Very intelligent script and great acting all around. Also very suspenseful. Finally, it was not a one sided anti-terrorist story, which is what made it such a great movie rather than a piece of anti-terrorist propaganda. You should definitely see this movie.

The acting and cast is really good. But it has become a bit redundant (terrorism plots against the west) and the good vs. evil.

I find that Traitor is really worth seeing. It is well shot, the pace is relentless as you generally expect from such movies and the casting is adequate. Don Cheadle and guy Pearce deliver a great performance, as always. In addition to that, the film is eager to paint, I believe, a realistic picture of the war against terrorism as seen through the eyes of all sides.

Credit to the director for trying to undo what has previously been done but with a new theme in the spy/covert ops genre. I look forward to better versions of these in the future. This one was definitely worth the watch but the viewer will have to make up there own minds.

An exciting movie with good twists and turns and a surprisingly unsympathetic approach for US foreign policy. Good characters and strong performances together with a solid story make this an excellent choice.

Poor picture quality bad acting after the movie I felt brainwashed, I can't help it but it seams like a propaganda movie to me to increase the fear of terrorist attacks... and at the same time show how good the US government is working to prevent attacks from happening. If you are into religious movies... it might be something for you, if not... watch something else.

What a strange movie. Slow yet full of action. Brutal yet beautiful. Terrifying and full of hope... At the most tragic moment people in the cinema started to laugh but probably a nervous laugh as they could not have forseen what just had happened... Great performances by all.
