Me and my girlfriend loved the movie and all the music. I used to listen to my mom's old ABBA music. The movie was totally fun.

I watched the musical before, and found that this movie version is a good as the musical version. And the movie has the bonus, such as beautiful scenery, and more reality-feel instead of everything on the stage. The movie is quite well balanced with lots of ABBA songs as well as natural acting. Very humorous too. I would recommend to get the movie in DVD and keep it at home. Whenever you feel sad or depressed, get it out and pop it into the player, it'll definitely can cheer you up with all the music and fun part. It's a movie that you can watch it again and again and never get sick of. :-)

Amazing dancing. Even though the singing is not the best, the acting is. This music is more dependant on acting than vocals and the director has matched the characters to the actors perfectly. I loved every minute of it.

Mamma Mia is a must see. We laughed we cried we sang along and so did the rest of the audience. Great story line with characters that felt so real you'd swear you knew them all your life.

Just as good as or better than the stage show. Great dancing and singing (except for Pierce - who really tried!) No one wanted to leave their seats at the end of the show.

Compared to all other movies playing at this time, I would give it a 20/10. Lets talk about "Mamma Mia"- 1-Great MUSIC. 2-Breath taking scenery. 3-Captivating story. (never lost interest) 4-Great cast. 5-It is so enjoyable I didn't want the show to end. 6-Once again the music is fantastic, it is one of those movies that you will enjoy over and over again. Don't take my word for it -GO AND SEE IT. [...]

The music was good and so was the scenery but the plot was weak. Without Myrl Streep it wouldn't be much of anything.

The movie follows the Broadway musical very closely with a few song changes. The scenery is amazing. Even Pierce Brosnan's singing is pretty good - and he is so cute, who cares if he can sing!!! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!

I wish they made more movies like this. It is a pleasant change from all the violence you read and hear about in the news and tv. I make a point of not going to movies with violence. After seeing Mamma Mia I left the theatre elated.

Lots of fun. Went with my 11 year old daughter and we both are going back and taking the rest of the family to see it. Some of the singing isn't perfect buy the actors gave great performances other than two or three singing parts. As a whole it was a great movie.

Whats with all the positive reviews with this movie? I just don't get it! The singing was terrible, they ruined everything that was ABBA! I agree with the guy who said in another review," kill me please and put me out of my misery!" My wife who took me to this movie was all excited, halfway through the movie she looks at me with a deer in the headlights look and says," What the..." Now I like musicals, and I like ABBA, but I hate this movie! The songs did not belong to the story and the story did not belong to the songs. Saying it politely, the singing was terrible. I can't believe I shelled out $70 to see this movie. Is it too late to get a refund?

If you like ABBA, imagine Peirce Brosnan and Meryl Strep singing these songs... its actually worse than it sounds! I use to like ABBA but then this movie ruined it for me! How do they call this a romantic comedy. Its should be labeled bad musical! I laughed I cried I kissed 60 bucks goodbye...

I'm definitely not a musical lover, but I went to see it because my friend was visiting from London and she wanted to go. Well it was just plain great, you feel great when its finished, all the way home we were singing abba songs. Oh and that moment when Donna (Streep) sang Winner takes it all... absolutely fantastic.

First the bad: I've seen the stage version and it just compare. Poor direction - how could a setting like this be minimized and used as a sidenote. Poor script - the script and music was so ill-fitted, making the flow choppy. Poor cast - Streep, Firth and Seyfried were good choices, acted their roles and actually sang. The rest were just bad - bad acting, bad singers. Mediocre choreography - the dancing scenes were so poorly done and shot they were hard to get through. Now the good: It was great entertainment and fun. In that perspective I would give it a 10. Streep and Seyfried pulled off an excellent 1 - 2 punch. Seyfield was perfect. ABBA music is timeless and so easy to enjoy. And lastly, ah-h-h the greek isles - beautiful.
