Pretty good - kind of like a new twist on Crimes and Misdemeanors and Match Point, but not as good as either.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This was similar to Allen's recent Match Point. Both had characters from modest backgrounds aspiring to live 'the good life.' Like Crimes and Misdemeanors, this involved murder, remorse, and guilt--with a twist ending. It was well-acted, especially by Colin Farrell who played the guilt-ridden brother to Ewan McGregor's morality-deprived character. Woody seems to be grappling with issues of crime, deception, loyalty, and greed. Mostly, the outcome is dismal for these characters--but their psychological rationalizations are quite interesting. For something lighter, try Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona--a romantic romp that deals with infidelity and the search for self (heavy issues, but done with a light hand) The Spanish actors are the best thing about it (Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz)
