Pretty good - kind of like a new twist on Crimes and Misdemeanors and Match Point, but not as good as either.

This was similar to Allen's recent Match Point. Both had characters from modest backgrounds aspiring to live 'the good life.' Like Crimes and Misdemeanors, this involved murder, remorse, and guilt--with a twist ending. It was well-acted, especially by Colin Farrell who played the guilt-ridden brother to Ewan McGregor's morality-deprived character. Woody seems to be grappling with issues of crime, deception, loyalty, and greed. Mostly, the outcome is dismal for these characters--but their psychological rationalizations are quite interesting. For something lighter, try Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona--a romantic romp that deals with infidelity and the search for self (heavy issues, but done with a light hand) The Spanish actors are the best thing about it (Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz)

It's not even out in north america yet, but I was able to get a pirated copy of it in china last week. I couldnt finish watching the movie. Very slow. Wait until the dvd comes out, or I can send you my copy.
