The storyline is utterly ridiculous! The ending was so bad the the whole theatre was laughing, and this isn't a comedy flick.

I really don't know what to say I am a Vin Diesel fan I have seen most of his films The Fast and The Furious, xxx, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Pitch Black a whole bunch of others this movie doesn't come anywhere close to any of them. Not to say that this movie doesn't have it's good moments I found this movie overall an enjoyable action flick but I think the film's biggest problem is maybe it is very short it's only 1:30 that may seem to be a long time but in regard to movies these these days are around 2:00-2:30 somewhere in there in regard to length. I found a lot of the characters in this movie to be a bit odd but there where a few pleasant surprises one of them is that one of the main characters was Lambert Wilson better known for his role in The Matrix trilogy as The Merovingian overall a good movie just not as good as what you'd expect from a Vin Diesel movie...

There are many movies that have been released recently that are alot worse than this one. Probably people expect a serious SF plot when they hear the term 'SF movie'-but I think that Vin Deisel in it should say just the opposite to any moviegoer-it is not to be taken too seriously-if you can not take it too seriously it works as good escapism-the fight choreography is a bit sloppy and visualy it lacks a bit here and there-but all in all-its fun-and it's not meant to be 'serious SF'.

This is one of Vin Diesel's best movies. The action is from the start to the finish, the storyline keeps you on your feet up until the end. The end, has a nice sweet soft touch, I would see over and over again!

Just bad. Good writing, acting, plot, character development... ? It has none of these.

The worst ever, the only thing it needed to improve to make it worse was an appearance from John Travolta and Dennis Hopper.

This movie was garbage the plot was so far fetched it was almost cheesy. The acting and lines were horrible by far the worst Vin movie ever made. They should be ashame to even let this movie out I walked out half way through it.

Fairly good sf romp with lots of action and well done visuals-worth going to see, not an sf masterpiece, but not shaby either.

I gave it a four (4) and I did pay :o.. :( I can understand Vin Diesel doing this (type of) movie but, for the life of me, I can't understand how they got Charlotte Rampling, Gerard Depardieu or Michelle Yeo to participate in it?

So so action flick for the first 3/4ths of the movie- then it just falls apart and the ending makes you wonder why you bothered to even sit through it to get to the end.

IT has to be one one of the worst movies I've seen. I've been told it's part of a sci-fi serie so I guess it may be good for those who already know about it but if you don't know about it, you don't wanna know about it. Story line makes no sense, exagerated to the max and even worse... Briefly, to avoid if you wanna have a good time.

The movie was pretty h. c. It starts off getting right into the movie, and it doesn't have any nonsense where you start wondering if the movie is ever going to start. Some interesting concepts are also brought up and make you think. It is an action, not a philosophical movie, so you can't expect every aspect to be perfectly played out. As for the ending, a lot is not explained but haven't they done that in pretty much every action movie now? Vin Diesel was amazing. He is the same as in every movie but he plays his part very well. I would recommend seeing it but just try to stop and enjoy it for what it is. Try not being critical about every little glitch.

The end of the movie is just... surprising and difficult too explain... we don't really know the 'why' of the movie. But good action et story, maybe if the movie was during longer we could have time to figure out.

I've got to wonder if there isn't five or ten minutes of exposition sitting on some studio executive's floor somewhere. The movie started well enough setting up some sort of mystery for us to puzzle over. And then it just turned on us with people doing utterly inexplicable things for motives completely unclear to the audience. In short the story got butchered somewhere along the way into something that makes no sense whatsoever. And Hollywood people, please... If you've got a superb martial artist like Michelle Yeoh in your movie, don't use the extreme closeup, super fast cutting that you do to fake a fight scene with actors who can't fight. (I shoot fight scenes for a living among other things, and this was atrocious.)

In Alain Golman and Mathiew Kassovitz's movie 'Babylon AD' which I finally got to see today, Earth is mostly a bundle of wasteland and war torn cities due to a major war that takes place in not a very distant future! Turopp (Vin Diesel) is a hardened mercenary worrior who's on what's fit to call 'mission Impossible' to smuggle a very unusually gifted girl, to say the least, from a convent in Kazakhstan to New York city and the complications begin when her guardian, sister Rebecca, played by Michelle Yeoh, insists that she won't let the girl leave unless she accompanies her! ; And so this hi-tech mesh mash journey that resembles a jigsaw puzzle with the wrong pieces begins! ; I'm not going to say that the performances of Vin Diesel, Michel Yeoh, Lambert Wilson and especially the gorgeous Melanie Thierry (who plays Aurora) aren't good because that wouldn't be fare at all! ; So could it be the fact that Mathiew Kassovitz got way too involved with all aspects of the movie and should have just stuck to the directing part that made it such a mess? (He directed, co-wrote and co-produced it), or that when it came to editing, it was done in such a hurry that the result is a messy lot of many incomprehensible bits?.. In either case, it's a shame because in all honesty, I think that this movie had the potential of being much better than this! I can't help but remember another cinematic disaster that could have been saved as well: Battlefield Earth!

This is by far the worst movie of the year. Even the director knew it was a terrible movie and started blaming the producers. What kind of ending is that anyways? They totally gave up at the end... like called it quits... wrapped up production and fast forward to dying seconds of a movie ending. Chapters, stories, plots were all missing at end. I'm a Vin Diesel fan, so I will wait for this musical lol.

Well, I want to thank everyone for their god awful review of this film. It lowered my expectations so much that I went into the movie knowing I would see a terrible movie. In fact it wasn't that bad. Ok, poor acting... so what, the ending did make sense, the action scenes and special effects were cool and if you think about it, this movie had a pretty good concept. It wasn't perfect but entertaining if you have nothing better to do.

An interesting plot dimension(s) Van Diesel acted well, Too many open ends in the various venues. Needed more closures in the venue scenes to allow interest for a continuation of the movie. Lots of interesting action, linked, but sketchy in relativity of the groups interactions.

Sometime, you have to go with your guts and don't listen to people, this movie was good, not a 10 but it was great and worth seeing. It's a mixture of Children of Men & any post apocalyptic movie like Mad Max with a Riddick attitude. If you didn't like any of those movies, don't bother, but if you did...

Had the budget for a 'good' movie, had the talent for a 'good' movie, may have had the story line for a 'good' movie. Just didn't know how to bring it to an end. Left you hanging - not in suspense, but asking 'where is the ending? ' (By good, I mean entertaining on discount nights. It's a low standard, but one where you don't feel 'ripped-off')

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Best action movie I've seen in years, the end was especially intertwining with suspense and leaves you wanting more. Just plain bad even for a Vin Diesel movie, wasn't expecting much but I got even less lol. Bad script, the action scenes where too brief, plot was lack luster at best even for a action flick. The 2 main female leads were just not right for the part and one of them, I swear, was told her main motivation for the character was "Basketcase!". I personally would have shot her and taken the money! My Brother is a huge Vin Diesel fan and he fell asleep!! What does that say.

Just plain boring. Hired to take 2 woman from russia to NY may seem like a good enough reason to pack lots of action into 90 minutes but I blinked and missed the tiny amount of action in this action movie. One of the females is a basket case and combined with a horrible script it's an awful movie.

Why is it that almost every attempt at making a post-apocalyptic film seems to tank (present company included) The last good film I watched in this genre that was any good was John Carpenter's Escape From New York. Since then, I've been left wanting. I knew not to expect too much from this movie since it was plagued from the start. The Director and Vin Diesel couldn't agree on anything and Diesel's resentment glared throughout the film. The story was predictable with a terrible ending and the cast was thrown together. It was as if they had nothing better to do so they signed up. Michelle Yeoh and Charlotte Rampling were more than out of place here. I rate this film with the disdain it deserves.

Its been a while since I've called a movie terrible but I'm definitely calling this one TERRIBLE. Don't waste your money. You'll leave the theater amazed that you actually stayed and watched the whole thing; only because half way through, it almost seems like the movie gets better but then it ends and you realize it really wasn't.

You know, I should have seen this coming. Even the director of the movie said it was crap. Fox stepped in and started making changes to the film so the version we see on the screen is not the directors vision. Story lacked and was very disorganized. Lots of unanswered questions. Action wasn't to bad. Not worth seeing in the theatre.

It's a movie going nowhere. They go to New York for some unknown reason and things happen without explanations and the ending doesn't explain any of it. It is perhaps one of the worse movies I've seen in some years... the Mod Squad comes to mind in terms of badness.
