This movie was not believable from start to finish and the writing was predictable and incredibly clichéd... I kept thinking the actors (admittedly Robert Downey and Anton Yelchin managed pretty well with their terrible lines) were going to crack up from the bad lines they had. I was an "outcast" in high school and did not see anything in this movie that reminded me of those days, except the gloomy "Kip" who wanted to kill himself... his character should have done this to save himself from this awful movie!

Not bad, not bad... I wish a couple more gags would have pushed this movie into the 'comedy' category.

This movie is the perfect teenage movie which portrays many conflict a teenager may face. I like how the principal was very involved in the movie as well. Comedic and a classic in my eyes.

Funny in parts and entertaining enough apart from a few cringe worthy scenes. Robert Downey Junior is great in this although I was getting increasingly concerned for the actor even pretending to drink alcohol since he is a recovering alcoholic in real life. What really let this movie down was its enormous lack of originality. There are so many parallels with Pump Up The Volume (starring Christian Slater) from the 1990s it could be considered as plagiarism. I wouldn't recommened paying to see this but maybe rent it if you are bored.

The movie was OK as a teen movie. This would be a decent rental for those rainy days.

Charlie almost made it; as a teen movie, it will not make the Alumni class. Napoleon Dynamite (2004) will remain far more successful. Worth no more than 6½.

This is one of those movies that you just click with. It's funny, witty, well-written and very believable. Anton Yelchin is endearing as Charlie.

An intersting movie. It was fun just sitting there and see it. Recently all the movies I see are dramatic and I'm always tense. But this movie was a change and enjoyable. :)

This movie was fun. Not a typical hollywood flick but close. The first half of the movie was quite funny and the second half was more dramatic. Some of the more serious scenes weren't that well done in my opinion but it's still a good flick.

Well... I think it's the worst movie I've seen for at least 2 years. Themes were cheesy, the main actor wasn't credible. It looked like a big Degrassi show to me. The 'I'm only a teenager' thing disturbed me alot... Anyway I don't get where all the good critics came from.

An okay movie.. It s surely no where near being like Superbad... this movie is more like about teen problems and stuff like that , probably a good movie for parents... to show them how they can LIVE with who we are and what we do... It had it moments... Not a very funny movie , since to me , it wasn't a comedy film. Id suggest kids to watch it with their parents.

Are you kidding? What's with the good reviews here? This movie HAD potential... that much I'll give it. But after the main character was running around in his underpants, it all went downhill from there. The cliche storyline, the cheesy guy falls for daughter of someone he shouldn't, and the just plain retarded script round out this "great" movie. Since when is selling drugs cool? Is that the theme the director wanted to represent? Do not compare this pansy who has the voice of a 6-year old girl to the infamous Ferris Bueller... Ferris deserves MUCH more than this horrible movie.

This was a truly entertaining, fun movie that would be enjoyed by people of all ages! Very similar to cult classics like Napoleon Dynamite, Rushmore and even Juno. I definitely recommend seeing it while it's still in theatres.

I enjoyed this movie a lot and recommend it to any age group. I find it holds my interest thoughout the story. Robert Downing Jr. was terrific as the dad trying to do the best he can to raise his daughter.
