Tchaikovsky's glorious score for this beautiful ballet is played by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House in London. Based on the 1946 Sergeyev/de Valois recreation of the original 1890 Marius Petipa production in St. Petersburg, The Sleeping Beauty has been revived by Monica Mason and Christopher Newton complete with golden sets and stunning costumes. The dancers are led by Alina Cojocura and Federico Bonelli as the Sleeping Beauty and the Prince. The story takes place over 21 years and, of course, ends happily ever after.
