This movie is worth seeing and very interesting. I especially liked the casting. It seems there could have been more, but I was satisfied. And if you have a good imagination, you should definitely watch this. All in all, a mediocre, but entertaining movie. And that's all you need, entertainment.

Were you all stunned? I went because of the high marks given here and I was such a disappointment and wished I did not leave my house to see it.

A fun adventurous movie. However who would have thought that the scientific brains of the world that design humanity’s survival plan for 200 years into the future then decide to put the instructions onto something as easy to destroy as paper. The abnormally large animal angle seemed to be left hanging too. This is a classic Billy Murray roll. His best in 15 years. Then again, the last of his movies I watched was 5 years ago.

I enjoyed the movie. Didn't really know what to expect, haven't read the book, but my son has just started it. Both of my boys (7 & 10) really liked it, as did I. Great family movie, and other than animated films, that doesn't happen too often anymore. Thumbs up! :)

If you like CS Lewis, THE SILVER CHAIR you might like this film - similar plot. Interesting story & good actors (loved Bill Murray) Good family film. Enjoy the show!

Story continually kept you wanting to see what happens next. All actors were well suited to the roles they played. 2 main characters + Polly were excellent. Read of not enough action in other comments, but maybe as there did not seem to be too much computer generated stuff (thank goodness) it all seemed real, with the wonderful sets, and scenes etc. Thank goodness no slobbery villians and armies with that shoot 'em up and blow 'em away scenarios. Liked the Bill Murray role he is always a laid back with occasional flares of emotion.

This movie was full of plot holes, but I'm probably 10 years too old to fit into the target audience. Take your kids. Bill Murray and Tim Robbins, the reasons I went to see this in the first Place, are incredibly underused and have no real Place in the plot. If you really stop to think about it, the whole movie makes no sense, but I won't spoil. Like I said, take your kids. Not so great otherwise.

Personally, I did enjoy watching it and I'm not disappointed for selecting it. It was a great movie. It is an adventure, a family, a fantasy movie. Before you go out to see it, check out by reading the review of the movie critic [...] Enjoy the Movie.

It was just okay nothing special, some parts were kind of boring, and others just kind of dragged on so this movie was just so so for me.

I enjoyed City of Ember. Bill Murray was very subdued which was a bit of a disappointment. The storyline was great; neatly tied together.
