If you're sick of black directors, then don't go see a movie made by one! And what's that about "revisiting the race issue"? Guess what, historical movies tend to "revisit" periods in history! That's the nature of the genre! I guess you won't be seeing Paul Gross' movie about canadians in the first world war cause it "revisits old hurts", or watch a movie about the holocaust ever again cause it "revisits" the whole concentration camp / Nazi issue, or watch a movie about Bosnia or Rwanda cause it "revisits" past horrors. I guess you can't ever watch a Oliver Stone movie ever again since you allow zero poetic licence and social commentary. Hell, why not ban the whole historical genre altogether? That filth should never hit our screens! Ignorance is bliss! You sound like you have deep-seated issues. This is not a movie review, this is a rant against "Spikey". Do not listen to the negative rants, folks. It's only about a few people who feel discomfort at the very idea of approaching a story from a non-mainstream point of view. Sign of the times... It was definitely worth seeing.
