You miss the point about the movie -even though I thought the ending and some military history aspects were really crappily done. The movie was about discrimination and sgregation by the US Government and locals/soldiers from the American 'Deep South'. There was no slam on white people. The fact is most white European locals welcomed the black GIs and showed no systemic racial discrimination - how you and a few other reviewers ignore that very obvious aspect of the movie and cry reverse racism is pretty amazing. The movie showed blacks and whites together - dancing, loving, sacrificing and fighting against the nazis - as opposed to US segregation standards which hated that 'normal' interaction. Outside of that context I agree alot of the other things and the so-called 'mystery'/'miracle' plot of the movie was crappily done.
