I think the film would've been much stronger if a more experienced director took the reins. The film should've captured the labyrinth-like story-telling of the book, so that it comes to an amazing ending about Victor and his personal journey of self-discovery. The mother/son relationship is important, but Palahniuk's world is all about the twisted elements of humanity.
